The duo ASAF was born in mid 2013. Formed by guitarist Karen Arango and percussionist Jhon Eduard Ciro, both professors at the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The duo focuses mainly on the interpretation of contemporary repertoire, Latin American and Colombian folklore. Their format is vibraphone and guitar, and some of the repertoire also includes voice and other percussions. The ASAF duo has given concerts in Colombia, the United States, Spain and Argentina. They have also performed as soloists with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Ríonegro (Argentina), Orquesta Filarmónica de Ibagué (Colombia) and Orquesta de Cuerdas Unab (Colombia).
